This Privacy Policy describes how Resumly.pro ( "resumly", "we," "us,", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information that we obtain about users of our web application ("the App").  

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you directly provide to us when you use the App. This includes:

  • Personal Information: Your name, email address, and any other information you provide when creating an account or contacting us.
  • Resume Content: Information you enter regarding your work experience, education, skills, and any other details you include in your resume profile within the App.
  • Job Description Data: The URL or text of the job description you provide to tailor your resume.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Operate the App: To create, process, and deliver the tailored resumes based on your input and the provided job descriptions.  
  • To Utilize the Google Gemini API: We send the resume content you provide and the job description data to the Google Gemini API to generate the tailored resume. Please note that the data shared with the Gemini API is subject to Google's privacy policies and terms. See Google Gemini AI Policy. We do not use the data submitted to the Gemini API for any purpose other than generating your tailored resume and as potentially used by Google as described in their policies.
  • To Improve and Maintain the App: To understand how the App is used and to improve its features and functionality.
  • To Communicate with You: To respond to your inquiries, provide support, and send you updates about the App.
  • For Legal and Security Purposes: To comply with legal obligations, protect our rights and interests, and ensure the security of the App.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • With the Google Gemini API: As described above, we share your resume content and job description data with the Google Gemini API to provide the core functionality of the App.
  • With Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, data storage, and customer support. These service providers are obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes for which they were engaged.  
  • For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process, such as a court order or subpoena. We may also disclose your information to protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others.  
  • In the Event of a Business Transfer: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no security measure is completely impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.  

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information and resume content for as long as necessary to provide the services you have requested and for a reasonable time thereafter for our business purposes. We will retain job description data sent to the Gemini API according to our understanding of Google's data retention policies for API usage.

You may have certain rights regarding your personal information, depending on applicable laws. These rights may include:

  • Access: The right to access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.  
  • Deletion: The right to request the deletion of your personal information.

7. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age.
